Our Facilities
Thornlie Senior High School has been serving the local community since 1971 and is located 16 kilometres south east of Perth in the suburb of Thornlie.
The school is currently undertaking a major maintenance upgrade supported by the WA Government’s Stimulus Maintenance Package.
Our 1200 students are encouraged and support by the staff to ‘engage inspire and achieve’ to do their best. We strive to be a high care – high performance secondary school.
As a specialist sports school, we offer scholarships to students wishing to join a range of exciting programs. Our Specialist Program in Rugby is available by application and a highly competitive selection process.
School based specialised programs in Netball, ICT and Cheer & Dance offer students challenge both in school and through a wide range of extra-curricular competitions and excursions.
We offer student-centred learning programs, integrating information technology across our curriculum.
Our students have access to an Academic Excellence Pathway and a comprehensive Music program that operates from the purpose built Performing Arts Centre.
Strong links with further education providers offer our students successful academic pathways leading to university entry and a broad range of vocational and portfolio pathways leading to employment and further training.
Thornlie Senior High School is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and provides nationally recognised qualifications from Certificate I to Certificate III in a range of industries.
Our students benefit from the latest technology and modern facilities including a commercial kitchen and well-appointed Gymnasium (including a climbing wall) and a Performing Arts Centre.
